Job summary

Waggoner Engineering, Inc. in Jackson, MS is seeking a Senior Water/Wastewater Engineer to join our team. The role focuses on planning, design and technical assistance within budget and schedule constraints, working closely with a multidisciplinary design team.

You will lead analyses and designs of water and wastewater systems, interact with clients, and contribute to meaningful community projects. A PE license and 8+ years of relevant experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering required.
• Minimum of eight years of experience in water/wastewater engineering.
• Experience designing water and/or wastewater treatment facilities.
• Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes and hydraulics.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel or similar design software.
• Ability to develop engineering calculations, plans, specs and reports.
• Knowledge of water/wastewater regulations and permitting requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• PE license required.

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering analyses and evaluations to support planning and design of civil works projects.
• Design water distribution systems, water supply and treatment components; sanitary sewer systems; transmission, treatment and disposal systems.
• Assess existing system conditions and develop remedial measures.
• Maintain communications with clients throughout a project.
• Conduct project status reviews with the team and monitor timeliness.
• Attend project management meetings.
• Assist in preparation of engineering studies and reports.
• Prepare project designs using engineering software and tools.
• Assist in preparation of contract documents and technical specifications.
