Job summary

The Keystone Distinction Group seeks a Water Resources Design Engineer in Parsippany or Sparta, NJ. This hybrid role focuses on design of water and wastewater treatment, pumping, storage and distribution systems, with a strong emphasis on technical excellence and regulatory compliance.

The position requires 5–10 years of hands-on experience and a PE license or near-term attainment, plus NJDEP/EPA knowledge and AutoCAD proficiency. A technical track with discretionary bonuses is offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering and PE license or near completion.
• 5–10 years of hands-on water and wastewater design experience.
• Strong knowledge of NJDEP regulations and EPA/SDWA standards.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and technical report writing.
• Prefer staying technical with emphasis on design rather than early PM roles.
• Experience with funding apps and State Revolving Funds is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineering of water and wastewater facilities, pumps and storage.
• Feasibility and planning studies with hydraulic and environmental evaluations.
• Technical documentation: calculations, specs, cost estimates, contracts.
• Regulatory coordination: NJPDES permits and related approvals.
• Site investigations and field assessments to support design/construction.
• Collaborate with structural, civil and MEP teams and with vendors.
• Mentor junior engineers on technical work and design procedures.
