Job summary

Stantec in Virginia is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer to join our Environmental Services group, focusing on stormwater and ecosystem restoration design needs. You will lead interdisciplinary teams and develop fee proposals, with strong emphasis on project management, regulatory knowledge, and client coordination.

The role requires a BS in Civil/Water Resources, PE licensure, and 9+ years of experience; Masters preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Civil, Water Resources, Environmental Engineering, or related field; Masters preferred.
• Minimum of 9 years prior experience.
• Professional Licensure (PE) required.
• Virginia DEQ Dual Combined Administrator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary project teams to meet project needs under minimal supervision.
• Ensure conformance with Stantec’s Project Management Framework (PMF) and contractual requirements.
• Develop fee proposals for varying sizes and complexities; coordinate with task managers.
• Oversee stormwater design, hydrologic/hydraulic studies, and conveyance systems.
• Mentor/supervise junior staff and promote career development.
• Travel locally around Virginia as required.
