Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer in the Environmental Services group, focused on stormwater and ecosystem restoration design. The role emphasizes leadership of cross-disciplinary teams, conformance to PMF, and client collaboration across Virginia locations.

Ideal candidates bring a PE license, 9+ years in water resources, and experience with regulatory guidance and modeling tools (SWMM, PondPack, HMS, RAS).

Qualifications

• Requires BS in Civil/Water Resources/Environmental Engineering or related field; MS preferred.
• Minimum 9 years of experience in water resources engineering.
• Professional Engineer license required; strong project leadership experience.
• Knowledge of Virginia erosion control and stormwater regulations; proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary project teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
• Ensure conformance with Stantec’s Project Management Framework (PMF).
• Develop fee proposals and coordinate with task managers across disciplines.
• Oversee stormwater design, hydrographic studies, and utility layouts.
• Lead design of stormwater facilities, conveyance, and flood protection strategies.
• Mentor junior staff and conduct peer/quality reviews.
• Travel locally in Virginia as needed; interact with clients.
