Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer in its Environmental Services group in Virginia. You will lead stormwater and ecosystem restoration design efforts, coordinate with clients, and guide interdisciplinary teams to deliver technical solutions with strong PMF alignment.

We value a PE, 9+ years of experience, AutoCAD Civil 3D expertise, and proficiency in hydrologic/hydraulic modeling. This full-time, on-site role requires Virginia travel and BS-degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Civil, Water Resources, Biological Systems, Environmental Engineering, or closely related field.
• Minimum of 9 years of prior experience.
• Professional licensure (PE) required.
• Virginia DEQ Dual Combined Administrator certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review project orders; direct interdisciplinary teams to meet project needs.
• Provide strong project leadership aligned with PMF.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with leadership and clients on opportunities, budgets, and staffing.
• Develop fee proposals for various project sizes and complexities.
• Oversee stormwater design and related studies, utilities, grading.
• Lead the design and evaluation of stormwater facilities and flood protection strategies.
• Conduct credit analysis of BMPs for TMDL using regulatory guidance.
• Assist in developing TMDL Action Plans, stormwater master plans, and resilience planning.
• Oversee BMP inspections, municipal facilities and outfalls.
• Lead field assessments for water quality studies.
• Attend and help moderate public outreach meetings.
• Mentor junior staff and promote career development.
