WSP Global Inc. in Virginia Beach is seeking an experienced Water Resources Engineer to provide technical guidance on stormwater engineering and municipal drainage projects. You will help develop designs, perform hydrologic/hydraulic modeling, and coordinate with regulators and clients to deliver quality solutions.

You will mentor junior staff, manage small to mid-size projects, and prepare technical reports and presentations showcasing findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with focus in Water Resources.
• 5 to 7 years of post-education experience in water resources engineering.
• Engineer in Training Certification.
• Knowledge of water resource engineering principles, practices, and environmental permitting.
• Experience with Stormwater Management, Drainage, Erosion and Sediment Control, Hydrology & Hydraulics Design, Watershed Studies, Floodplain Delineation.
• Coordination with agency regulators and understanding requirements.
• Familiarity with Phase I/II ESAs per ASTM guidelines and permitting processes.
• Experience managing small to mid-size projects with tracking hours and expenses.
• Strong technical writing, data analysis, and reporting skills.

Responsabilités

• Perform professional water resources engineering work and investigations related to stormwater master planning and hydrology/hydraulic modeling.
• Work solo or on cross-functional teams to deliver project work, permits, and regulatory memos.
• Prepare data visualizations, tables, charts, and technical reports for presentations and decision making.
• Maintain QA/QC standards for measurements, analysis, and reporting.
• Assist with development and scoping of medium-sized projects.
• Design stormwater management facilities (bioretention, green roofs, permeable pavements, etc.).
• Prepare watershed and floodplain studies and evaluate regulated impoundment structures for compliance.
• Interacts with regulators, subcontractors, and clients professionally.
• Keep up-to-date with latest water resource engineering techniques.
• Mentor staff and assist in project delivery.
