Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer in its Environmental Services group in Virginia Beach or Fredericksburg. The role focuses on stormwater and ecosystem restoration design, with opportunities to lead interdisciplinary teams and engage with clients.

You will oversee hydrologic/hydraulic studies, prepare fee proposals, and ensure adherence to PMF and contractual requirements while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary project teams to meet project needs and review new orders.
• Provide strong project leadership per Stantec PMF.
• Ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
• Coordinate with leadership and clients on opportunities, budgets, and staffing.
• Develop fee proposals for diverse project sizes.
• Oversee stormwater design including grading, hydrologic studies, and utility layout.
• Lead design and evaluation of stormwater facilities and conveyance systems.
• Lead BMP credit analysis for TMDL Credit.
• Assist in development of TMDL Action Plans and resilience planning.
• Oversee inspection of BMPs and municipal facilities.
• Lead field assessments for water quality and watershed studies.
• Participate in daytime and evening public outreach meetings.
• Conduct peer and quality reviews.
• Mentor junior staff and support career development.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
