The role focuses on addressing water scarcity, delivering sustainable water management solutions, and guiding high-quality engineering across major inland projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; postgraduate qualification in Water Resources Engineering preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the design and management of water resource projects.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• Proficiency in water modeling software (EPANET, MIKE FLOOD, HEC-RAS) and CAD platforms.
• Strong knowledge of South African water legislation, policies, and standards.
• Excellent project management, leadership, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and planning of water resource projects, including hydraulic modeling and flood control.
• Conduct feasibility studies, environmental impact assessments, and risk analyses.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, specifications, tender documents, and contract administration.
• Oversee construction phase, ensuring quality, safety, and compliance.
• Liaise with government bodies, water boards, clients, and stakeholders on water issues.
• Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior engineers.
