Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Water Resources Engineer to join a prominent municipal infrastructure consultancy in Welkom, Free State. You will lead hydraulic modeling, design treatment facilities, and develop water-management plans across diverse projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with Water Resources/Environmental focus.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Technologist (Pr Tech Eng) registration with ECSA.
• Minimum 7 years' experience in design and planning of water and wastewater systems.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software: EPANET, SWMM, MIKE.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydraulic modeling and analysis for water distribution networks, sewer systems, and stormwater infrastructure.
• Design water and wastewater treatment processes and facilities.
• Develop plans for water resource management, including demand forecasting.
• Assess flood risks and design mitigation measures.
• Prepare engineering reports, drawings and project specifications.
• Collaborate with clients, authorities and other consultants.
