Job summary

American Water Co. is seeking a Senior Engineering Project Manager to oversee the delivery of multiple capital investment projects from inception through completion.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and interfaces with Operations to ensure project needs and operational impacts are aligned. The role requires a strong background in project and program management within water resources, with experience in regulatory compliance, land rights, and cross-functional coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience in project delivery of major water resources projects.
• Water/Wastewater utility experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage activities for delivery of medium to small capital investment projects from inception to completion.
• Monitor and manage budgets and schedules for projects and programs.
• Drive efficiency in project delivery through metrics and effective procurement approaches.
• Ensure projects meet regulatory criteria, specifications, and standards.
• Coordinate land acquisition, easements, permits, and other approvals for projects.
