The City of Tumwater is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician III to serve as a technical subject matter expert on the Water Distribution Crew. This journey-level role independently handles complex maintenance, advanced troubleshooting, and coordination of activities to ensure safe, reliable water service.
Responsibilities include leading hydrant flushing, valve exercises, and system maintenance while mentoring Maintenance Technician I & II staff.
Qualifications
- Expert-level mastery of water distribution systems.
- Provides technical leadership and coordination of work activities on job sites.
- Troubleshoots complex issues and coordinates sequencing within plans.
- Mentors junior staff on policies, procedures and safety practices.
- Ensures compliance with safety standards and documentation.
Responsabilités
- Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair complex water distribution infrastructure.
- Lead hydrant flushing, valve exercising, and system maintenance activities.
- Respond to emergencies and protect public health with approved SOPs.
- Coordinate job-site activities and ensure safe, efficient workflows.
- Update work orders, logs, and asset records in GIS systems.
