Job summary

NorthMark Compute & Cloud (NMC²) in Spartanburg, SC seeks a Watch Commander to lead the security and operations watch floor. You will direct on-shift security personnel, monitor life-safety and security systems, and act as the first-line Incident Commander during events to ensure continuous operation of the campus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security operations or related mission-critical environment.
• Experience leading a team in 24/7 settings (security ops center, dispatch, watch floor).
• ICS/NIMS incident command training (NIMS 100/200/700); 300 preferred.
• Calm, decisive under high-pressure incidents and strong written/verbal skills.
• Familiarity with security systems (access control, CCTV, intrusion detection).
• Associate or Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice or related field; background checks required.

Responsibilities

• Hold real-time command of security and operations watch floor during shift.
• Direct and supervise on-shift security officers and response staff.
• Perform structured handovers; maintain complete incident status and actions.
• Develop and implement Incident, Emergency, and SOP Plans.
• Be available for TDY to support executive protection and leadership security.
• Maintain compliance with licensure and certifications; specialized requirements for SC.
• Monitor alarms across security and life-safety systems; escalate as needed.
• Maintain logs of shift activity and events; ensure continuity.
• Act as first-line Incident Commander for security or operational events.
• Execute Crisis Response Framework and SOPs; coordinate with external agencies.
