Job summary

NorthMark Compute & Cloud (NMC²) in Spartanburg, SC seeks a Watch Commander to lead the security and operations watch floor. This senior, unarmed role directs security personnel, monitors life-safety systems, and acts as Incident Commander for events during the assigned shift.

You will implement Incident and SOP plans, coordinate with external agencies, and ensure strict adherence to access control, EHS, and crisis procedures on a high-availability HPC campus.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in security ops or mission-critical environments.
• Experience leading 24/7 security ops teams.
• ICS/NIMS incident command training (NIMS 100/200/700 required; 300 preferred).

Responsibilities

• Hold real-time command of the watch floor for the shift.
• Direct and supervise on-shift security staff and response teams.
• Conduct structured handovers at shift start and end.
• Develop and implement Incident, Emergency, and SOP plans.
• Monitor alarms across access control, CCTV, intrusion, fire & life-safety, power, and HPC env.
• Maintain logs of all shift activity and decisions.
• Act as first-line Incident Commander under ICS/NIMS until relieved.
• Execute Crisis Response Framework and SOPs under pressure.
• Activate escalation protocols and notify leadership and partners.
• Coordinate with external agencies for on-site response.
• Enforce access management and maintain audit records.
