King County's Department of Natural Resources and Parks is seeking a seasoned Civil/Structural Engineer to lead and manage complex capital projects. You will prepare contract documents, review plans, and ensure compliance with county and state bidding policies, while coordinating with maintenance and other agencies.

Success in this role means delivering projects on time and within budget, obtaining necessary permits, and providing expert engineering guidance across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering or closely related field.
• At least 8 years of engineering experience including project planning, design, and construction.
• WA Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical issues in a multi-discipline environment.
• Experience managing multiple, complex capital projects within time and cost constraints.

Responsibilities

• Prepare public works and procurement contract documents and cost estimates to comply with County and State public bidding policy.
• Assist in obtaining necessary permits prior to construction bidding.
• Stamp and sign engineering plans as a Professional Engineer or Architect.
• Review and approve shop drawings, interpret specifications, advise on contract compliance, and review change orders.
• Review vendor proposals and construction plans to avoid conflicts with County facilities; coordinate with maintenance or contractors for repairs.
