Job summary

King County is seeking a Senior Wastewater Structural Engineer to design and oversee infrastructure across the Wastewater Treatment Division. The role includes reviewing others’ structural work and updating standards while coordinating with consultants.

A hybrid schedule is offered, with strong emphasis on equity and public service. The successful candidate will hold a Washington PE license (or obtain within 90 days), have 8+ years of relevant experience, and contribute to a high-performing,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering required.
Professional Engineer license in Washington or ability to obtain within 90 days.
8+ years of engineering design, project planning, and construction experience.
Experience leading multi-discipline capital projects and reviews.

Responsibilities

Prepare public works and procurement contract documents and cost estimates per policy.
Stamp and sign PE/Architectural plans.
Review shop drawings and advise on contract compliance and changes.
Review vendor proposals and ensure facility plans align with County requirements.
Assist with complex emergency repairs of wastewater facilities as needed.
