Job summary

King County Wastewater Treatment Division is seeking a Senior Wastewater Structural Engineer to lead structural design across facilities countywide and to review consultant work representing King County interests. The role includes updating standards and design documents for consistency and quality.

The position follows a hybrid work model combining remote and in-person work. A WA PE license and 8+ years of experience in design, review, and project management are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• At least 8 years of engineering experience in design and construction.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer in Washington or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Prepare public works and procurement documents and cost estimates per bidding policy.
• Stamp and sign plans as a PE/Architect.
• Review shop drawings and advise on contract compliance and change orders.
• Review vendor proposals and coordinate with other agencies.
• Assist with complex emergency repairs and coordinate with maintenance as needed.
