Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead complex wastewater treatment design projects across the United States. You’ll mentor junior engineers, collaborate with national experts, and contribute to technical proposals and client relationships.

The role emphasizes advanced process modeling, QA/QC reviews, and involvement in professional organizations. A PE license and 8+ years of experience are required, with a hybrid workplace model in the US East region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, PE license, 8+ years in wastewater design
• Ability to lead process engineering for large complex wastewater projects
• Excellent written and oral communication with mentoring and staff leadership
• Strong business development, proposal preparation, and marketing skills
• Flexible and able to meet challenging deadlines
• Strong client focus

Responsibilities

• Execute advanced process designs for municipal/industrial wastewater facilities focusing on nutrient removal and efficiency
• Collaborate with national experts to implement innovative treatment technologies on high-profile projects
• Mentor junior process engineers to ensure growth and project quality
• Assist with technical proposals, crafting process approaches and innovative solutions
• Conduct complex process modeling following best practices (BioWin, Sumo, GPS-X)
• Perform QA/QC reviews of calculations, reports, and drawings
• Lead technical workshops for clients evaluating process options and capital improvements
• Support on-site facility startups and provide feedback to design teams
• Engage with equipment manufacturers to stay current on technology trends and performance
• Manage bench-scale and pilot-scale studies and provide scale-up recommendations
• Develop multi-criteria and life-cycle cost analyses for decision making
• Participate in regional/national professional organizations and conferences
