Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) seeks a Wastewater Plant Operator III to operate, monitor, and maintain wastewater facilities and related systems, ensuring water quality and safety standards are met.

You will lead and train staff under supervision, coordinate repairs, and maintain thorough records. A Class B license and relevant wastewater experience are required, with driving responsibilities included.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED; associate degree or trade certification preferred.
• Maintain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class B Wastewater Treatment Operator’s License.
• Minimum three (3) years of wastewater treatment experience or relevant experience as determined by NTMWD.
• Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Monitors and adjusts facility operations via observation, sampling, instrumentation, and SCADA to ensure compliant operations.
• Trains, leads, and mentors staff; promotes integrity, trust, respect, unity, safety, and teamwork.
• Plans and performs maintenance for treatment assets and lift stations; coordinates repairs with maintenance personnel.
