Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District seeks a Wastewater Plant Operator III to oversee the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of wastewater facilities including headworks, liquids treatment, solids handling, odor control, SCADA, and lift stations. You will ensure asset condition, water quality, and safety standards are met and supervise staff as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or trade certification preferred.
• Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Class B Wastewater Treatment Operator’s License required.
• Minimum of three years of wastewater experience and valid Texas Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, analyze, and adjust operations using SCADA and samples.
• Train, lead, and mentor staff; uphold ITRUST values.
• Coordinate with maintenance on repairs and plan asset maintenance.
• Maintain logs and records; implement efficiency improvements.
• Respond to emergencies, schedule responses, and manage shutdowns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
