Job summary

North Texas Municipal Water District is seeking a Lead Wastewater Plant Operator to oversee the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of wastewater facilities and related systems to ensure safety, compliance, and efficiency.

You will supervise staff, train teams, and coordinate maintenance while enforcing health and safety standards in a dynamic treatment environment. A Texas Class B license and a high school diploma or GED with four years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Four years of wastewater treatment experience.
• Texas Class B Wastewater Treatment Operator's License.
• Valid Texas Driver's License.
• Gain and maintain in-depth knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, compliance requirements, operations and maintenance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, analyzes, and adjusts facility operations through observation, testing samples, and SCADA.
• Trains, leads, mentors, and evaluates staff.
• Reviews logs and records for accuracy and completeness; uses data to improve operations.
• Assists in preparing work schedules and reports on facility management, operation, and maintenance.
• Responds to emergencies and coordinates repairs and remediation.
