Job summary

Ojai Valley Sanitary District is hiring an Operator II, III, or IV for the wastewater collection system. The role involves cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and construction of sewer lines with responsibilities ranging from journey-level to advanced journey-level tasks.

Two years of experience for each level and CWEA certification are referenced; a valid Class B CA driver’s license is required. Overtime, standby duty, and some weekend availability are expected.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Class B California Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to District insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled and semi-skilled preventive and corrective maintenance on wastewater collection facilities including cleaning, repairs, and CCTV.
• Operate heavy machinery to perform line cleaning, root control operations, debris removal, and disinfection operations.
• Prepare and maintain a variety of narrative and statistical reports, records and files related to duties and assigned activities.
• Coordinate activities with staff and outside organizations to exchange information and resolve issues.
