Job summary

The Cayucos Sanitary District is hiring a Certified Plant Operator to oversee the wastewater treatment plant’s daily operations and ensure regulatory compliance. The position requires a Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate or the ability to obtain one by February 2027, plus five years of progressive O&M experience including supervision.

Qualifications

• Must possess and maintain at least a Grade IV Wastewater Treatment Operator certificate or obtain it by Feb 5, 2027/June 5, 2027 at District Manager’s discretion.
• Five years of progressive wastewater treatment O&M experience, including two years in a supervisory/management role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise plant operations to meet federal, state, and local requirements.
• Evaluate performance of plant operations personnel and provide development feedback.
• Oversee training and motivation of plant staff.
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of wastewater treatment facilities.
