Job summary

WD is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor in California to coordinate between manufacturing, maintenance, process and equipment engineering teams. You’ll lead a 30–45 person production group, focus on downtime reduction, process efficiency and high-quality wafer output.

You will resolve tooling and processing issues, mentor operators, and drive continuous improvements using Lean and Kaizen methodologies while aligning with company policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Data Analysis or Statistics, Chemistry or Physics.
• Knowledge of semiconductor wafer manufacturing processes and logistics.
• Knowledge of Statistical Process Control systems and rules.
• Knowledge of MESA or similar Shop floor Control Systems.
• Able to extract, summarize, interpret and present process data.
• Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing Principles and DMAIC experience.
• Proficiency with SQL or similar query languages.
• Proficiency with VBA, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Project Management applications.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate between manufacturing, maintenance, process and equipment engineering teams to improve downtime and production efficiency.
• Resolve tooling or processing issues and implement changes as directed by engineering.
• Lead a department of 30–45 operators to meet production goals and improve throughput.
• Coach and develop direct reports; conduct periodic performance reviews.
• Promote Lean manufacturing concepts and Kaizen events.
