Job summary

Datadog is seeking a Senior Security Engineer for Vulnerability Management to scale our vulnerability lifecycle across multi‑cloud products and services. You will turn ambiguous security problems into clear, automated solutions, coordinating with engineering teams to address root causes and implement technical controls throughout the SDLC.

You will leverage AI and data-driven decision making to prioritize risk, drive remediation, and improve security postures across Datadog’s environments,

Qualifications

• Experience identifying, prioritizing, and driving remediation of vulnerabilities in large software, cloud, or infrastructure environments.
• Ability to solve complex technical problems using Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience with cloud-native or multi-cloud environments, containers/o rchestration platforms, infrastructure as code, and modern software-delivery workflows.
• Experience reproducing and validating externally reported vulnerabilities.
• Use data, exploitability, exposure, context, and business impact to explain risk decisions.
• Able to progress without complete specifications; break problems down, test assumptions, and adapt to new information.
• Able to validate AI-assisted outputs and explain reasoning behind decisions.
• Influence across security, engineering, product, and compliance teams to reduce friction.

Responsibilities

• Work across the vulnerability lifecycle from detection through risk-based prioritization, remediation, and verification.
• Use AI and automation to build tools, services, and workflows for scalable security solutions.
• Reduce engineering toil with automation, enrichment of findings, and clear ownership/ fixes tracking.
• Analyze recurring vulnerabilities to identify root causes and preventive measures in the SDLC.
• Partner with SDLC Security, Product Security, platform and engineering teams to balance constraints, business impact and risk.
• Provide evidence and SME for vulnerability management processes across compliance frameworks (SOC2, HIPAA, PCI, FedRAMP, ISO).
