Job summary

Datadog is seeking a Staff Application Security Engineer to set technical direction for application security at scale. You will define frameworks, methodologies, and secure-by-default patterns used by engineering teams across Datadog, including AI-powered features.

You will lead threat modeling, build scalable security tooling, and partner with product and engineering teams to prioritize risks and enhance API security across the platform.

Qualifications

• Software engineering background with hands-on code review experience.
• Familiar with OWASP Top 10 and web security practices.
• Experience with API security and secure-by-default frameworks.
• Ability to translate risk into security investments for leadership.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive security standards and secure-by-default solutions, serving as the Application Security SME.
• Build security tooling and automation to scale security practices across engineering teams.
• Lead threat modeling and risk assessment for high-risk features and platform changes.
• Assess and address security risks introduced by AI-powered features in production.
• Partner with engineering to prioritize and remediate threats, define API security standards, and conduct security code reviews.
