Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) seeks a Unit Manager II to lead the Wilmington VR/IL Unit, supervise 35 staff, and oversee services across multiple counties in the Eastern Region. You will ensure high-quality vocational rehabilitation for people with disabilities and collaborate with schools, community programs, and partner agencies.

This role emphasizes leadership, regulatory compliance, and program development in a dynamic public service environment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, counseling, or a related field with four years of independent counseling experience, including one year supervisory.
• CRCC certification or equivalent with four years of supervisory independent counseling experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership to meet agency mission and goals within the unit’s values.
• Supervise administrative, clinical, and case management activities for staff of 35.
• Coordinate services with third-party programs, community partners, and DVR policies.
