Job summary

Canteen, a Compass Group USA company, seeks a Senior Vice President based in the East Bay (Hayward preferred) to oversee operations across Northern California. You will lead, inspire, and develop senior leaders, shaping culture of safety, service excellence, and innovative client solutions.

Reporting to the COO, you will drive regional P&L, partner with sales, manage large multi-unit teams, and guide strategic initiatives to grow the business with our diverse client base.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited college or university in business or a related field, and/or 12 years progressive experience in multi-unit foodservice or other food services, hospitality management, culinary product development, and/or warehouse operations management
• Strong background in senior leadership roles with experience in contract and budget management, P&L management, customer service, people development, negotiations, culinary, innovation
• Travel within the Bay Area required; occasional/rare non-local travel

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire district managers/directors of operations and their teams to deliver top-notch products and services
• Drive a culture of safety, customer obsession, innovation, and proactive performance
• Own regional decisions with input from team, weighing risks and implications
• Manage regional financial results including reporting, forecasting, and budgeting
• Represent the brand to senior clients and act as escalation point
• Partner with sales/retention teams to drive growth and negotiate key contract terms
• Collaborate on regional/national initiatives and ensure policy compliance
• Oversee employee engagement, retention, and succession planning
