Job summary

RFG Advisory seeks a senior finance leader to own accounting, FP&A, and strategic finance in a hybrid Birmingham setting with remote options. You will guide GAAP-close discipline, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic transactions while mentoring the accounting team and partnering with the CFO.

You will implement modern finance tools, drive efficiency, and provide decision-ready insights to executives in a PE-backed wealth management environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• CPA strongly preferred; MBA and/or CFA are meaningful advantages.
• Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the end-to-end accounting cycle required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee core accounting functions including GL, bookkeeping, AP, AR, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close with disciplined close calendar and GAAP compliance.
• Own FP&A model, budgets, rolling forecasts, variance analysis, and executive reporting.
• Drive process improvements, AI-enabled workflows, and automation across finance operations.
• Mentor and develop accounting team through hands-on leadership and feedback.
