Job summary

Novacore’s Sedona Risk Partners is seeking a Vice President or Senior Vice President, Construction Underwriting, to build and lead the construction excess casualty practice from the ground up in Conshohocken, PA.

You will underwrite large, complex construction accounts over $100M, develop broker relationships, mentor a growing underwriting team, and shape strategy with data-driven risk selection.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction underwriting and risk management.
• Strong understanding of construction risk dynamics and excess casualty exposure drivers.
• Experience underwriting or supporting large-account risks with revenues or project values in excess of $500M.
• Established broker and market relationships in construction and excess casualty space.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and underwrite complex risks on an excess basis, including wrap structures.
• High degree of underwriting discipline and comfort operating within defined risk parameters and attachment point requirements.
• Self-starter with entrepreneurial drive and ability to build a book independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present risk rationale clearly.

Responsibilities

• Underwriting & Portfolio Management: Build and grow construction excess casualty book from the ground up, align with risk appetite.
• Write and manage large, complex construction accounts on an excess basis, including high-value data centers and infrastructure.
• Establish concentration limits, pricing adequacy, and portfolio composition.
• Develop and monitor broker and market relationships to drive submissions and capacity.
• Leadership & Team Building: recruit, hire, and mentor underwriting staff as the book scales.
