Job summary

Novacore is seeking an experienced P&C Underwriter for its HabPro program within the Real Estate Segment. The role focuses on building a CRE insurance portfolio for apartments and condominium associations across the US, with preference for California locations (Los Angeles or San Diego).

Responsibilities include leading underwriting, guiding the team, and ensuring adherence to guidelines while exploring expansion opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years property and casualty underwriting experience.
• Experience in product development, distribution channel discussions/decisions, and territory expansion preferred.
• Knowledge of additional property and casualty products desired.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• P&C license not required, but highly sought after and eligible for reimbursement upon hire.

P&C Underwriter- Commercial Real Estate

We are looking for an experienced P&C Underwriter to join our HabPro program, which falls under the Real Estate Segment at Novacore. HabPro Insurance is a one-stop-shop Commercial Real Estate (CRE) insurance provider specializing in
Package, Monoline Property, & Monoline GL for apartments and condominium associations.

As we continue growing our regional presence across the US, ideally this candidate will sit in California Los Angeles or San Diego, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for building a portfolio of business in alignment with a set budget expectation.
• Provide leadership in accordance with the company's vision, mission and values while providing direct supervision, training and guidance to the underwriting department.
• Maintain and conform to all underwriting guidelines for all company procedures, rate levels and underwriting authorities domestic and foreign.
• Be a part of strategic discussions regarding expansion into additional states and/or territories.
• Communicate effectively with the internal and external teams on accountability of goal setting and strategic sales initiatives. Generate a profitable portfolio with a focus on underwriting discipline and annual monthly/yearly premium goals.
• Protect the core best practices to ensure alignment and execution.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years property and casualty underwriting experience is required with an emphasis on binding authority and brokerage underwriting.
• Experience in product development, distribution channel discussions/decisions, and territory expansion strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of additional property and casualty products desired.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• P&C license not required, however is highly sought after, and eligible for reimbursement if obtained upon hire.
