P&C Underwriter

Novacore is looking for an experienced P&C Underwriter to join our organization, supporting one of our 20+ specialty programs. Novacore is the newly formed specialty insurance entity created from the April 2025 sale of NSM Insurance Group’s U.S. commercial division. Each team member plays a vital role in that mission. This role is hybrid from one of our many office locations: Conshohocken, PA Home Office; Plano, TX; Oak Brook IL.

Responsibilities

• Build a portfolio of business in alignment with a set budget expectation.
• Provide leadership in accordance with the company’s vision, mission and values while providing direct supervision, training and guidance to the underwriting department.
• Maintain and conform to all underwriting guidelines for all company procedures, rate levels and underwriting authorities, domestic and foreign.
• Participate in strategic discussions regarding expansion into additional states and/or territories.
• Communicate effectively with the internal and external teams on accountability of goal setting and strategic sales initiatives.
• Generate a profitable portfolio with a focus on underwriting discipline and annual monthly/yearly premium goals.
• Protect the core best practices to ensure alignment and execution.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years property and casualty underwriting experience with an emphasis on binding authority and brokerage underwriting.
• Experience in product development, distribution channel discussions/decisions, and territory expansion strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of additional property and casualty products desired.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• P&C license not required, but highly sought after and eligible for reimbursement if obtained upon hire.
