Job summary

Novacore is seeking an organized Underwriting Assistant for Sedona Risk Partners, to support the excess casualty underwriting team across multiple verticals. The role focuses on submission intake, broker liaison, and data-driven rating support to help underwriters focus on risk selection and portfolio management.

You will interact with retail brokers, underwriters, and senior leadership in a hybrid office setting, contributing to process improvements and efficient operation as the program grows.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience supporting excess casualty business in underwriting, operations, or related insurance role.
• Familiarity with commercial lines insurance products, policy documents, and industry terminology.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and service-oriented approach to broker interactions.

Responsibilities

• Submission Management: Retrieve submissions from broker portals and email, log and upload to Sedona platforms, track status, ensure documentation is complete.
• Broker Communications: Serve as primary contact for retail brokers on operational matters, provide timely, professional responses, and follow up for missing information.
• Rating & Technical Support: Assist underwriters with manual rating and loss rating verification, reconcile data, flag discrepancies.
• Underwriting Team & Leadership Support: Provide administrative support, help prepare quotes and documents, track deadlines and support process improvements.
