Job summary

Acuren is recruiting for a Visual Inspector III for API 510/570/653 to support our Midwest client sites and operations in Duluth, MN. This role demands extensive inspection experience and mastery of API/ASME standards, with potential project leadership and technical direction to junior staff.

Responsibilities include performing visual and NDE on pressure retaining equipment, reporting findings, and advising on repairs or alterations while maintaining safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 510/570/653.
• 5 – 8 years’ experience or 5+ years on site experience.
• Additional CWI OR NACE 2 a plus.
• In-depth working knowledge of API 510/570/653 and ASME standards.
• Experience working in direct support of petrochemical facility engineers.

Responsibilities

• At the direction of client, perform visual and non-destructive examination of static and dynamic pressure retaining equipment in accordance with API/ASME standards.
• Submit to client technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
• Provide client with technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, replacement, and/or alteration of plant equipment, as required for safe operation within stated operating parameters.
• Provide technical input to client as required for welding and metallurgical issues.
• Provide technical guidance on the application of non-destructive examination techniques and procedures.
• Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in all site safety initiatives.
• Willingness to travel if needed.
