Job summary

Acuren in Decatur, AL is seeking a Visual Inspector (API 510/570/653) to support local operations in the petrochemical sector. The role focuses on visual NDE of pressure-retaining equipment and reporting findings to clients.

You will provide technical input for repairs and alterations, ensure compliance with safety practices, and travel to client sites as required. This position emphasizes reliability and professional growth within a turnkey asset protection framework.

Qualifications

Certification of American Petroleum Institute Standards 510/570.
Experience with API 653 or CWI is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of API 510/570 and ASME standards.
Experience supporting petrochemical facility engineers.

Responsibilities

Perform visual and non-destructive examination of pressure retaining equipment per API/ASME standards.
Submit technically accurate reports documenting equipment condition.
Provide technical recommendations for repair, re-rate, or alteration of plant equipment.
Provide input on welding and metallurgical issues as required.
Offer guidance on NDE techniques and procedures.
Comply with all safety practices and participate in site safety initiatives.
Willingness to travel if needed.
