Job summary

The U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs, Visa Services Directorate, Office of Screening, Analysis, and Coordination, seeks a qualified candidate to coordinate interagency screening and vetting for all visa applicants and respond to SAOs on visa eligibility.

Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience at the GS-13 level or equivalent, with demonstrated ability to supervise, assess, and apply immigration and national security policies, under time-in-grade rules.

Qualifications

• 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service.
• Experience developing, examining, investigating, or adjudicating claims under immigration and nationality laws.
• Experience providing operational oversight, leadership, and direction of visa screening and vetting programs.
• Experience implementing national security-related visa policy.
• Time-In-Grade Requirements: 52 weeks at the next lower grade.
• Ability to assign, review, and supervise the work of others.
• Objectivity and fairness in judging people on their ability, and situations on the facts and circumstances.
• Ability to adjust to change, work pressures, or difficult situations without undue stress.
• Willingness to consider new ideas or divergent points of view.
