Job summary

Duke Health Technology Solutions is seeking a senior virtualization engineer to administer and optimize our enterprise virtualization platforms, including VMware ESXi, Nutanix AHV, and Cisco UCS. The role focuses on stability, performance, and security across storage and backup systems.

The ideal candidate will script with PowerShell and interact with APIs, collaborate with engineering, and participate in on-call coverage to ensure 24/7 availability. Experience with AWS/Azure is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years of equivalent technical experience.
• Four years of related experience with hardware/software, peripherals, and policies.
• Experience with Cisco UCS, VMware and/or Nutanix platforms including SAN/NAS storage.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with virtualization platforms and backup systems.
• Maintain and migrate apps within the virtual environment.
• Participate in patch management and system upgrades.
• Document policies and changes to the technical environment.
• Provide Tier 3 incident management and support for users.
