Job summary

Duke Health Technology Solutions in Durham, NC is seeking an experienced virtualization systems administrator to manage VMware, Nutanix AHV, Cisco UCS, and related storage and backup. You will design, implement, and monitor enterprise virtualization platforms to ensure stability, performance, and security.

The role requires scripting with PowerShell, interacting with APIs, and collaborating with engineering, IT operations, and application teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or four years of equivalent technical experience.
Four years of system administration on Cisco UCS, VMware and/or Nutanix.
Experience with SAN/NAS storage, Fibre Channel and iSCSI.
Experience with AD, Intel hardware, and software packaging.
PowerShell and API scripting experience; Ansible or similar CM tools.
Experience deploying infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot system failures and resolve issues with VMware, Nutanix, AHV, Cisco UCS, and related backups.
Perform maintenance on ESXi, Nutanix, Cisco UCS, and AHV; assist migrations.
Establish patching practices and system upgrades.
Document policies and changes to the technical environment.
Provide Tier 3 incident management and customer-focused resolution.
Communicate issues to team members and management.
Assist monitoring with automated system monitoring and reporting.
Coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams to meet needs.
Profile application needs with development, DB and OS admins to ensure stability.
Participate in on-call schedule; provide technical leadership and mentorship.
