Job summary

Duke Health is seeking an experienced virtualization engineer to join Duke Health Technology Solutions in North Carolina. You will administer, maintain, and design enterprise virtualization platforms (VMWare, Nutanix AHV, Cisco UCS), optimize storage and backup, and script against APIs to automate provisioning and repetitive tasks.

The role requires strong collaboration with engineering and core IT operations, plus incident management at Tier 3.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or four years of related technical experience.
• Four years of system administration on Cisco UCS, VMWare and/or Nutanix platforms.
• Experience with SAN/NAS storage, Fibre Channel and iSCSI.
• Proficiency with PowerShell and scripting to interact with APIs.
• Experience with Ansible or other configuration management tools.
• Experience with deploying infrastructure in AWS and/or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot system failures and resolve technical issues with VMWare, Nutanix, AHV, Cisco UCS, and related storage/backup issues.
• Maintain and upgrade VMWare ESXi, Nutanix, Cisco UCS, and AHV environments and migrate applications.
• Document policies and changes to the technical environment.
• Provide Tier 3 incident management and customer-focused support.
• Mentor and provide technical leadership to the team.
