Job summary

GoodVets is seeking a Hospital Operations Manager to act as the operational heartbeat of the hospital. You’ll run day-to-day operations, lead staffing, scheduling, inventory, and reporting while upholding quality care and client experiences.

You’ll hire, train, coach, and develop teams; monitor performance and margins; ensure compliance with standards; and partner with doctors to deliver exceptional veterinary care.

Qualifications

• Experience as Hospital Operations Manager or similar role desired.
• Minimum 3+ years in veterinary medicine with progressive responsibilities; technician background preferred.
• Demonstrated leadership and ability to train and mentor others.
• Advanced skills in practice management systems and MS Excel.
• Basic accounting skills.
• Ability to implement and enforce SOPs and hospital protocols.
• Strong communication with hospital and corporate teams.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities and composure under pressure.
• Demonstrated passion to improve care for pets and people.

Responsibilities

• Lead all daily hospital operations.
• Ensure compliance with operating standards and requirements.
• Create and maintain accurate work schedules.
• Hire, train, and onboard new team members; set performance expectations.
• Prepare monthly reports on hospital performance, staffing, margins, and trends.
• Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching for growth.
• Monitor inventory, manage ordering, and control costs.
• Support doctors, staff, and clients with clarity and professionalism.
