Job summary

D2 Tech Services is seeking an experienced VDI Engineer with an active TS/SCI clearance to own and optimize a large-scale, globally accessed virtual desktop environment. You’ll act as the SME, architecting, implementing, and resolving complex issues across multiple teams to maintain mission speed.

You will lead design decisions, provide Tier 3/4 escalation support, and drive automation while ensuring security and interoperability across Citrix VDI products and related technologies.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance is required.
• 5+ years of progressive VDI experience (Administrator through Senior Engineer).
• Hands-on with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15+.
• Experience with PVS and MCS, CVAD, WEM and App Layering.
• Familiarity with Liquidware Profile Unity, Hyper‑V and VMware VDI.
• Experience with Leostream and HP AnyConnect is a plus.
• Infra as Code exposure: Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
• Experience with Windows Server clustering and AD/GPO administration.

What you’ll own

You’ll operate as the go-to authority on VDI across complex, multi-stakeholder production environments — designing, optimizing, and resolving issues no one else can.

• Architect, design, and maintain a large, globally accessed virtual desktop environment
• Serve as the organization-wide SME for diagnosing and resolving VDI performance issues
• Provide Tier 3/4 escalation support to system administrators across the enterprise
• Optimize desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between VDI technologies
• Drive process automation and improvement initiatives to reduce operational overhead
• Manage identity lifecycle across the VDI environment
• Conduct trade studies and make “build vs. buy” recommendations with confidence
• Apply deep technical expertise across disciplines and operate in complex, multi-stakeholder production environments

What you bring to the table

Must-haves

• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 5+ years of progressive VDI experience (Administrator through Senior Engineer), with a B.S. degree or equivalent
• Hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops v7.15 and later
• Citrix Provisioning Services (PVS) and Machine Creation Services (MCS)
• Citrix Cloud Virtual Apps and Desktops (CVAD)
• Citrix Workspace Environment Management (WEM) and App Layering
• Liquidware Profile Unity
• Hyper‑V and VMware VDI experience
• Familiarity with HP AnyConnect and Leostream
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills — you’ll work across teams and stakeholders at all levels
• Experience managing Windows Server clustering
• Infrastructure as Code exposure: Terraform, Ansible, or similar
• System Center Virtual Machine Manager (SCVMM) or VMware vCenter 6.7
• Active Directory and Group Policy administration
• Home directory, profile management, and desktop software provisioning
