Job summary

DAVIS is seeking a Senior Virtual Construction Engineer to lead advanced BIM/VDC workflows on complex construction projects. You will direct model coordination, develop deliverables, and mentor junior staff, reporting to senior management.

You will oversee federated models, clash detection, and shop drawing validation, coordinating with project teams to ensure schedule milestones are met and quality standards are achieved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, Surveying, or related field
• Minimum 3 years VDC experience
• Advanced proficiency with Navisworks, Revit and AutoCAD
• Ability to manage federated models, clash detection and resolution
• Deep understanding of point cloud processing for VDC
• Troubleshoot technical issues independently
• Strong communication with project teams and leadership
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Lead coordination efforts on active construction projects
• Understand construction documents, building systems, phasing and trade coordination
• Interpret and validate shop drawings and submittals

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced trade coordination efforts on complex new construction and renovation projects
• Manage Virtual Construction project setup and model administration
• Define coordination needs and deliverables per BIM Execution Plan
• Produce and oversee BIM/VDC deliverables including overlays and site plans
• Enforce QA/QC procedures to ensure model accuracy and alignment with coordinates
• Collaborate with Field Engineering and Reality Capture teams
• Develop creative, constructable solutions for coordination challenges
• Align deliverables with construction schedule milestones
• Provide mentorship to junior staff and promote efficient workflows
• Support cost management for VC projects and drive technology adoption
