Job summary

McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. is seeking a VDC Manager to lead the Virtual Design & Construction processes across project lifecycles. The role involves implementing BIM best practices, coordinating with Digital Craft and Reality Capture teams, and mentoring peers within the organization.

The candidate will oversee BIM planning, resource and schedule integration, and ensure alignment with budgets. Travel regionally may be required.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering, Construction Management or Architecture or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 7 years in the field; 3+ years focused on VDC.
• Proactive leadership and cultural stewardship within the team.
• Process-oriented, timely, and able to meet deadlines amid changes.
• Strong knowledge of building construction sequencing and delivery methods.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; able to influence across audiences.
• Proficient in BIM coordination software (Revizto/Navisworks) and model authoring tools (Revit/Tekla).
• Experience with laser scanning and drone data collection.

Responsibilities

• Promote a culture of virtual building among stakeholders.
• Manage VDC planning and execution across projects/offices.
• Partner with Digital Craft & Reality Capture teams for deliverables.
• Communicate value proposition of VDC capabilities.
• Develop VDC team succession and career pathways.
• Collaborate with Business Development, Operations, Preconstruction, Design Integration and Scheduling.
• Lead implementation of VDC processes, training, and standards.
• Maintain VDC metrics and lessons learned across the project lifecycle.
• Represent VDC in client interactions and project lifecycles.
• Support regional VDC initiatives and national focus area projects.
• Conduct model content production, laser data processing, and drone flights.
