Job summary

Gatik is seeking a Senior V&V Engineer to lead closed-course testing and proving-ground validation for autonomous trucks in Santa Clara, CA. The role focuses on designing and executing physical test scenarios, using robotic targets, weather simulations, and fault-injection to verify safety requirements.

You will work onsite full-time with a focus on safety, data analysis, and robust test coverage across hardware and software features, contributing to Gatik’s driverless middle-mile capability.

Qualifications

• 5+ years executing vehicle-level closed-course testing on proving grounds for AVs, ADAS, or automotive OEMs.
• Direct experience operating soft-target robotic platforms.
• Proficiency in automotive data acquisition tools (CANoe, CANape, Dewesoft, Wireshark).
• Strong Python scripting capabilities for log parsing and test metrics generation.
• Safety Rigor: Demonstrated adherence to proving ground safety regulations and risk mitigation practices.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute closed-course test programs for new software features and safety-critical maneuvers.
• Set up and operate proving ground equipment.
• Ensure V&V plans are developed and executed; triage issues to resolution.
• Analyze vehicle dynamics data, IMU, CAN logs, and autonomy telemetry.
• Enforce track safety procedures and risk assessments.
