Job summary

Gatik, the leader in autonomous middle-mile logistics, seeks a Senior Systems & Safety Engineer - Hardware to own safety architecture and reliability for AV compute, sensor suites, and power/BMS hardware. You will ensure hardware stack withstands thermal, vibration, and fault conditions while meeting ISO 26262 and other automotive safety standards.

Based in Santa Clara, CA, this onsite role collaborates with hardware and software teams to develop FMEDA reports, safety cases, and hardware

Qualifications

B.S./M.S. in Electrical or related engineering fields and strong hardware safety background.
Experience with FMEDA/FTA and worst-case analysis for safety-critical hardware.
Deep knowledge of ISO 26262 Hardware development and related automotive safety standards.
Hands-on experience with automotive-grade components and supplier qualification.

Responsibilities

Lead hardware safety architecture and reliability engineering for AV compute, sensors, and power hardware.
Define hardware safety requirements and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Develop FMEDA reports, hardware verification documentation, and safety case evidence.
Coordinate with Tier-1 suppliers for qualified automotive-grade components and integration.
