Job summary

Gatik is seeking a Senior V&V Engineer to design, build and scale hardware-in-the-loop testing for autonomous vehicle software and drive-by-wire hardware at its Santa Clara facility. You will develop real-time HIL benches, perform fault-injection suites, and validate ASIL hardware safety under hardware-accurate conditions.

The role requires deep experience with HIL architectures, scripting in Python and MATLAB, and collaboration with hardware, software and autonomy engineering teams to ensure

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or Robotics.
• 5+ years in HIL test environment development and execution for autonomous driving or automotive systems.
• Proficient in Python and MATLAB/Simulink for automated testing.
• Experience with ISO 26262 hardware verification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, and maintain multi-ECU HIL test benches representing complete AV vehicle electronics.
• Integrate sensor simulation technology into real-time test setups.
• Develop automated physical and electrical fault-injection test suites (e.g., open circuit, short to ground, latency spikes, corrupted signals, power dropouts).
• Write robust Python and C++ test scripts within CI/CD pipelines to execute overnight regression suites on physical HIL rigs.
