Job summary

WSP is seeking a Senior Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Supervisor to lead field operations, ensuring DoD compliance and safe execution of munitions response and range clearance projects. The role oversees multiple UXO teams, providing technical guidance and ensuring high safety standards.

The ideal candidate brings extensive UXO/EOD experience, strong leadership, and a track record of managing complex field operations while maintaining safety and quality across diverse sites.

Qualifications

• Meet the qualifications and functions of UXO-TIII, UXOQCS, UXOSO as defined in DoD Explosives Safety Board Technical Paper 18.
• Minimum 9 years of EOD/UXO experience with munitions response or range clearance.
• Minimum 5 years of supervisory UXO field operations experience.
• Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with annual refreshers.
• Current 8-Hour HAZWOPER Supervisor Training certification.
• Demonstrated experience managing an Explosive Safety Program.
• Strong knowledge of MEC/UXO.
• Experience enforcing PPE and health and safety procedures.
• Ability to travel and work in remote field environments.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with DoD/MEC site plans and approvals.
• Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site munitions response activities and range clearance projects.
• Lead and supervise multiple UXO field teams with technical guidance.
• Review daily field reports and project documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Assess risks in movement of UXO/DMM within MRS or ranges and approve movements when safe.
• Ensure protective works, equipment and exclusion zones follow DoD policies and safety regs.
• Promote a strong safety culture and adherence to site health and safety plans.
• Support project managers and clients through effective communication, scheduling, and planning.
