Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions (MEIDS) is expanding its Overseas Software Center (TOSC) team in the U.S. to build and maintain software products for MEUS and broader corporate needs.

The UX Practice Lead will drive user-centered design strategy, mentor designers, and execute hands-on design work to raise UX maturity and cohesion across products. The role combines leadership with hands-on design, working closely with Product, Engineering, and other stakeholders to set governance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HCI, Interaction Design, UX, Product Design, Graphic Design, CS, Psychology or related field; equivalent practical experience.
• 10+ years of experience in UX/product/interaction design or related digital product design discipline, including leading complex initiatives.
• Strong portfolio showing user-centered design, UX strategy, research-informed decision-making, design systems, prototyping, measurable product impact.
• Experience collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, Customer Success and other cross-functional stakeholders in Agile/iterative environments.
• Ability to allocate and prioritize limited UX/design resources across diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with modern design/prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe CC) and usability testing methods.
• Knowledge of accessibility, responsive design, design system governance, and scalable digital experiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor UX designers across experience levels.
• Run design reviews, coaching, and feedback cycles.
• Foster a collaborative, psychologically safe, continuously improving culture.
• Support onboarding of MELCO businesses and grow UX capabilities across TOSC.
• Define UX vision and roadmap aligned to product and corporate priorities.
• Translate user needs and technical constraints into clear design direction.
• Advocate for UX investment with cross-functional leaders.
• Maintain and evolve design systems, component libraries, and governance.
• Oversee user research, interviews, journey mapping, and usability testing.
• Guide discovery, wireframing, prototyping, and UI refinement.
• Ensure designs are scalable, accessible, and data-informed.
• Set quality standards, acceptance criteria, and delivery expectations.
• Produce design deliverables for engineering (wireframes, prototypes, mockups, flows, specs).
• Collaborate with Product on requirements and prioritization.
• Align with Engineering on feasibility and implementation.
• Build relationships with Marketing, Customer Success, and Support to unify experiences.
• Represent UX in strategic and leadership discussions.
• Promote qualitative/quantitative insights; define UX impact metrics.
• Standardize UX tools, workflows, and documentation; partner on milestones and sprints.
• Ensure design systems and accessibility standards applied.
