Job summary

Apex Technology, Inc. is seeking an outstanding UX Designer to craft the future of Octopus, our in-house operating system for spacecraft manufacturing.

You’ll research, prototype, and design experiences used by technicians, engineers, and planners across the full production lifecycle. You will own design systems, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and iterate based on real-world feedback to deliver fast, information-dense, and cohesive interfaces for enterprise tools in a high-stakes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in design or equivalent; strong portfolio.
• 5+ years designing interactive web applications.
• Enterprise/internal tools experience; time-pressured users.
• Experience with design research methods (contextual inquiry, shadowing, usability testing).
• Experience building and maintaining a design system and standards.

Responsibilities

• Research and define UX strategy for Octopus from concept to implementation.
• Observe factory workflows on the floor and with engineering teams; translate into design solutions.
• Relentlessly optimize workflows: fewer clicks, screens, and errors; measure impact.
• Design for high-density operating environments: terminals, tablets, cleanroom use, analytics tools.
• Measure and iterate on design performance; improve experiences as needed.
• Define and own the Octopus design system, UX standards, and guidelines.
• Collaborate with engineers and partners; build trust with stakeholders and leaders.
• Present work to partners, stakeholders, and senior leaders.
