Job summary

Streamwood Behavioral Healthcare System (SBHS) is seeking a Lead Utilization Management professional to oversee daily utilization review activities in an acute behavioral health setting in Streamwood, IL. This full-time role requires an RN license and a master’s degree in a related mental health field.

The incumbent will ensure regulatory compliance, accurate documentation, and effective payer communication while collaborating with clinical teams to optimize patient outcomes and appropriate

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a related mental health field.
• 3–5 years in an acute inpatient psychiatric setting as a treatment team member, or 2–4 years in utilization management for mental health/substance use disorders.
• Current RN license to practice by the Illinois State Board of Nursing.
• Social Work / LMHC / LPC / LCSW / LCPC preferred; Primary Source Verification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead utilization management coordination and daily operations.
• Ensure timely documentation and regulatory adherence.
• Collaborate with clinical teams and leadership to promote patient satisfaction and appropriate reimbursement.
