Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Project Manager/Engineer/Coordinator to drive complex utility projects in Michigan, coordinating with multiple departments from initiation through closeout. The role focuses on low voltage distribution, both overhead and underground, supporting the Consumers Energy Distribution Design team.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and risks while serving as the primary client liaison, preparing reports and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards in a hybrid

Qualifications

• 2+ years of project management and utility experience.
• Proficient in MS Project, Excel, Power BI, and SharePoint or SAP.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or General Business (PMP preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead all phases of project management: planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout.
• Coordinate internal and external resources to ensure project execution.
• Track and manage project budgets, schedules, and risks.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients and project stakeholders.
• Prepare status reports, forecasts, and presentations for clients and leadership.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and industry standards.
• Mentor and support project team members including coordinators and field staff.
• Monitor projects from conception to completion, ensuring all steps are completed in a timely manner.
• Work with various departments to balance workplan completion, resources, and new business workload.
• Serve as the single point of contact for project-related issues and coordinate redesigns as needed.
• Collaborate with Resource Planners on forecasting crew movement for successful project completion.
• Provide weekly updates to Program Managers and Directors on project statuses.
• Participate in problem-solving and lean management efforts to improve processes and gain efficiencies.
